GW Dining is GW’s resource for dining. The website has information on dining plans offered, the GWorld Dining and Grocery Partners, discounts around town, resources for healthy eating, and suggestions for meal planning. The comprehensive resources are aimed to help students learn to feed themselves nutritiously.
Healthy GW’s aim is to promote programs that encourage physical, mental and social well-being on our campus. Current programs include Partnerships for a Healthier America, Smoke-Free GW, and the Colonial Health Center.
On November 16, 2014, The George Washington University joined 19 other college or university campuses across the nation to team up with Partnership for a Healthier America(PHA) for the Healthier Campus Initiative. This initiative was developed in an effort to help make campuses healthier by adopting guidelines around nutrition, physical activity and programming. With more than 9,000 students and approximately 5,185 members of the faculty and staff, these changes will help encourage healthier options among the more than 14,000 individuals on campus each year.
In addition to improving the nutrition of the options available at its two on-campus dining halls, which serve more than 900,000 meals each year, The George Washington University will also make it easier for all those on campus to incorporate physical activity into their daily lives. As part of the PHA commitment, GW provides outdoor fitness systems on campus. See the fitness systems here.
